I'll get the bad news out of the way first
... it has been a sad time of goodbyes
on our little farm lately. Firstly, Jake
the donkey has gone to his new home on
ten acres near Pukekohe. With Gracie leaving
home for university next year, it was
time for him to live somewhere he will
get all the attention he deserves. We
are absolutely sure that he will receive
this with his new owners Jenny & Natasha.
We do miss his cheeky face though. Secondly,
we had been waiting for our one and only
pregnant ewe to give birth, but we found
her dead in the paddock the other morning
:o( Very upsetting, but apparently not
an isolated incident in our local area
this season. So we are now down to three
sheep, two horses and one cat now!
On a happier note, Colin and I went to
the French & Saunders show in Auckland
and had a great night out. We were a tiny
bit disappointed in the show, but we had
a superb Indian meal at Shali in Herne
Bay!
We have also booked a holiday to Rarotonga
for next May. It was around this time
last year when we went over, and those
memories are giving us itchy feet. We
can't get away this year, so we now have
eight months of anticipation! No doubt
the time will fly by.
The next big project happening in our
little corner of paradise as to empty,
dismantle and burn our very old dilapidated
woolshed. Although the neighbours and
ourselves occasionally use it to shear
a few sheep, it has become quite a hazard
with its rotting floorboards and leaking
roof. So now we start the process of sorting
through and throwing away all the junk
which my darling husband has been accumulating
and hoarding in it over the past fifteen
years ... you can just imagine the 'discussions'
can't you?!
That's enough from me for now.

use the nice sheets and china. Don't save
it for a special occasion. Today is special."
