Welcome to The Lofthouse and the first day of Autumn ... getting a little chillier at nights (perfect hot-tub conditions!), but these stunning clear days are great.

Colin and I spent the last race day at the V8s in Hamilton last month. We had really good seats at the Founders Theatre corner, so got a good blast of noise, fumes, noise, screeching of tyres, noise and more noise! Even with earplugs it was headache material. Colin loved it of course ... I think it's a boy thing.

I have been focused on entering The Lofthouse and The Two Tarts into the local Waipa Business Awards 2009. It is an interesting and rewarding exercise to concentrate on your own business in such a critical way. Keep your fingers crossed for us! We have had Anzac day and the Cambridge Autumn Festival recently - both events well attended and celebrated in Cambridge. The festival gave our wee town a super atmosphere - Colin and I went in for a huge brunch at Deli on the Corner (delicious - highly recommended) last Sunday and the main street was closed off and packed with people enjoying the stalls, shops and street entertainment. The lights under the trees were just gorgeous at night too.

My computer was taken over by gremlins this week, so was rushed off to the techno-whiz-doctor for a couple of days. We are very proud of our speed at replying to emails normally, so if you have been affected by delays please accept our apologies - hopefully it won't happen again.

We are now looking forward to Field Days at Mystery Creek next month. Unfortunately we have just learnt that our lovely bunch of boys at Wild Bills will not be coming down from Auckland this year - Bill is selling the business and so won't need a stand at the expo. So if you are reading this and know of anyone looking for some great accommodation for the week 8 - 14 June 2009, get them to drop us a line.
