The charming town of Cambridge is located in the Waikato region in the centre of the North Island of New Zealand. Nature has been very kind to the Waikato with its lush green landscape so brilliantly depicted as The Shire in Lord of the Rings.

Cambridge is New Zealand’s ‘Town of Trees and Champions’. Small enough to have that country village feel, yet blessed with an abundance of award-winning cafes, antique shops, NZ art and craft galleries and boutique shopping. Cambridge has Lake Karapiro on its doorstep - training ground for our Olympic gold-medal rowers, playground for all water sports, and confirmed venue for the 2010 World Rowing Champs. We can arrange kayak hire for you. The NZ Agricultural Fieldays are held annually at Mystery Creek Events Centre, an easy 20 minutes drive from The Lofthouse. The fantastic ocean surf beaches of Mount Maunganui on the east coast, and Raglan on the west coast are both within one hours scenic drive, as are the underground wonders of the Waitomo area. A great place to base yourselves to explore the middle North Island.
